CanSkate is for skaters 4 years and up. Pre-CanSkate is for skaters 3 and 4 years of age.

CanSkate is a dynamic learn-to-skate program which has been created based on Sport Canada's long term athletic development (LTAD) principals. The focus is on fun, participation and basic skill development needed to take part in any ice sport or to skate recreationally.
- The program is for beginners of ALL ages and is taught by NCCP-trained professional coaches, assisted by trained program assistants.
- Skills are taught through the BALANCE, CONTROL and AGILITY circuts. There 6 levels of learning including skills that pertain to hockey, ringette, speed skating, figure skating and general recreational skating. We use a nationally-tested and proven curriculum that ensures each skater develops strong basic skills.
- Lessons are in group format with a maximum coach-to-student ratio of 1:10. You will see a lot of action, movement and fun with upbeat music and teaching aids that create a fun learning environment! Each skater progresses at their pwn pace and badges, ribbons and other incentives are used to reward progress, effort and participation.
All you need are skates, a CSA- approved hockey helmet (not a ski or bike helmet), long pants, gloves and a warm sweater or jacket. Layers work best so your skater stays warm and comfortable.
